A weekend house in the Catskills Mountains of New York, situated on the edge of a horse meadow, surrounded by heavily wooded forest. The proposal is the result of the tension between the client’s desire to build their home on the meadow and our interest to build in the woods and keep the meadow clear. In addition, the site covenant permitted only log-home construction.  Working with local Hemlock log mills, the design is based on innovative construction methods and details to advance a modern architectural and spatial vocabulary with logs.  Scope:  Design and Construction Documents complete. built.
